After a low milage week last week, now I’m back up to my top milage so far. I’m all over the place between now and the first of October. After that main thing that will interrupt my training schedule is races. For now, it is work.
This week I did 4 miles on Monday morning with my friends. We didn’t run on Wednesday morning since it was the first day of school and we had to keep the tradition of getting the kids a good breakfast, photos on the front porch, and walking them into school. They are in the 4th grade this year and in class together for the first time EVER. Three days in, all is going well!
We’ve had another week of extremely cool weather, so my double header of 7 miles Thursday and 17 miles on Friday were at least at a comfortable temperature. No speed records set, by any means, just getting the miles in.
This week coming up is one where Paul and I are on-site at the children’s consignment sale we host. We’ve packed running gear, but it’s unlikely to get used. These are 7 exhausting days in a row and running usually just doesn’t happen. We’ve been in the business since 2004 and running since 2008, I do have to say that since I started running longer distances in 2010 and lost ~20 pounds, the physical stress of being on my feet for 16 hours a day is much less.
