It’s done! My trial run of the Dopey Challenge is over. I ran 3, 6, 12, & 24 miles on consecutive days and got another 3.5 miles in after taking a day off. I felt pretty good on the first three days, I didn’t push my pace very hard, but I wasn’t going super-slow either. I probably should have slowed down a bit more for the 12 miler because I started off slow and continued to drop pace each mile I was out for the 24 miler. It was pretty windy here, with temps in the 30’s, 40’s, and edging into the low 50’s on the last day. I was mainly hoping to practice fueling and recovery and find out how I’d feel after the last run. I’m going to call it a success, since I survived! I’ll be honest, I had to go to a 90 minute class about 2 hours after I finished up on Thursday and it was pretty hard to sit still in my chair. It was also hard to sleep that night, I had a lot of pain down the sides & backs of my legs, but it didn’t last after that.
Marathon Weekend will be here before we know it! I head to Florida on January 2 for a conference, so much to do before then!
